The Wampanoag nation of southeastern Massachusetts ensured the survival of the first English settlers in New England, and lived to regret it. We Still Live Here – Âs Nutayuneân tells the story of the return of the Wampanoag language, the first time a language with no native speakers for many generations has been revived in this country.
KET partners with LexArts, the Louisville Film Society, and ITVS, the producer of the PBS series Independent Lens, to bring Community Cinema to Kentucky. This free monthly screening series shows films on topical issues from the Independent Lens series. Community Cinema is active in more than 95 cities nationwide. Kentucky locations are Lexington and Louisville. To fulfill the goal of the project—for public TV stations to work with organizations and community members to encourage dialogue on important social issues—each screening will be followed by a panel discussion.
